GEOFF BOWEN
Geoff Bowen is one of the most experienced drummers in Canadian jazz playing today.
Born in England during the era of the Big Band, Geoff rapidly rose to become the drummer of preference with some of the most respected names in Jazz music around the world.
Among other players Geoff has played with Buddy DeFranco/Tommy Gumina Quartet, Tommy Gumina Trio with Ray Brown, Chet Baker Quintet, Red Norvo Quintet, Herb Ellis Trio, Joao Donato Quartet
He has played in a big band venue with Stan Kenton, Louis Bellson, Dick Stabile and Ziggy Elman as well as accompanying vocalists Pearl Bailey and June Christy
His most recent CD, “It’s About Time”, is in a trio setting and features the brilliant Charles Austin on piano and Ken Lister on bass.
